The point is that Emagic have stated that although no new products are being developed for the Atari platform existing products are commercially available (therefore no PD/freeware versions) and are supported. Now the thing is that as part of software support a manufacturer would release additional versions of the software to eradicate bugs and impliment new features. Therefore if Emagic are to actively support Notator then they should still be releasing upgrades to cover some of the bugs that have been apparent since version 3 (and probably before this). Yet they don't, or least not that I'm aware of. Also has anyone tried to order Notator or Logic for the Atari platform either from a dealer or from Emagic themselves. I've already waxed lyrical about this in an earlier posting regards to my purchase last year of Logic, you literally have to move mountains! However on a positive note if E-magic are to actively support Notator in the commercial domain then how about if we all send emails to Emagic requesting things like MTC support, bug fixes etc. If enough of us do this then we might get a version 3.3 of our beloved sequencer! Also for everyone out there that would like a dongle free sequencer very similar to Creator look at Sweet Sixteen. This can be downloaded free of charge from: http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/atari/Popular_Formats/MIDI/Sequencer/ It looks like Creator, works a bit like Creator (although you are limited with a lot of stuff) and I'm surprised that when it was a commercial release a few years ago that E-magic did'nt complain about it. So lets do it, email E-magic for your upgrade!
