I have to agree with Hallvard, that "cracking" the dongle just for your own use is equally illegal as cracking it for "other" purposes. For why should Emagic assume you do NOT intend to spread the cracked version? No, the best solution is to persuade Emagic that they should release NSL into the Public Domain, whereas they will keep their copyright.
