Black and White only, as has been outlined on earlier posts, one understands that the Atari computer can not output colour in hi rez mode, the colour is black and white. However, just to confuse the issue, (covered in other posts - do you look through the archives and get all the info on this subject?) - we do make a "Kig of the Road " Atari Monitor Adapter. This is more than just a plug type adapter, it has three controls - small trimpots which alter the three colours (RGB) to the monitor. (read: to the monitor - the computer does not have anything to do with it) So you can simply turn these three controls and "dial up" the colour you want, by the mix of the three. This way you can get the old time "green screen" for instance. Or maybe you like the look of a light red... Remember, you don't get many colours - only the main colour and black, the same principle as black and white. I find this adapter the most verstile with the given natural state of the Atari ST series computer hardware. But the "King of the Road" Adapter costs a bit more than a wee bit more than the plain one, and few people have ordered it. Recommended. And a word of warning, we have found only one monitor, an old one which didn't appear to work with Mario's Monitor adapter, almost without question, it should work with your monitor, but I have found that some of the cheap monitors when used with this adapter - the picture first appears slightly on the small side, and the controls won't allow the picture to be taken out to the very edge. Ideally you would buy the adapter and just tuck your ST under your arm and set it up in the shop and try several monitors to see how they run - take Notator with you! I did. You then might end up in big trouble on arriving home when your spouse asks you to explain what this 21-inch monitor is on your credit card. And you have to get by with the guillable explanation that the whole Notator picture was so impressive you were just overcome by it all! End of warning. -- | Brian Becroft | Tariland, Atari user group in New Zealand | | @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ | @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ | | http://gem.win.co.nz/brian/ | http://tariland.win.co.nz/ | ______________________________________________________________ | Unsubscribe/list-help/list commands.... | | http://matrix.crosswinds.net/~notator/docs/notator_intro.txt | ______________________________________________________________
