I am just wondering if there is a shade of misunderstanding here or in the discussion tone. What is obvious and should define all this discussion is that when playing a song from any sequencer into another (one play and the other record) then whatever MIDI events go done the cable will be the data whatever it is. Now if you thought that Notator has some "special Notator" events that go down a MIDI line then it is most certainly the case that it is not so much "Notator specific" as simply the universal MIDI standard. Ditto! There is MIDI, which is a universal standardization. ALL MIDI hardware and software are designed to receive and transmit data, to varying degrees (for instance all MIDI devices do not effect all MIDI parameters), that affects response within these agreed upon standards. Then there is System Exclusive. As the name suggests, data that affects a response that is not universally consistent but only with a particular manufacturers equipment or model(s). For instance I have a version of Logic that allows it to import Notator SL files...it will import some non-MIDI Notator info into Logic in the form of System Exclusive data.
