Now that they've become big (because of us Notator/Creator SL users) they've turned their back on us and turned over to the PC/Mac highway which is probably more profitable for them. Understandable of course -that's how business is, but... they could at least give us one last, big "Thanks for all the support through the years!" in the form of a dongle-free Notator SL. But we've been through this before, and several of us have tried getting through to Emagic, asking for this, without any result. The most recent idea is the one by Brian Becroft, where all members of this list should sign up in that petition. I wish *everybody* on the list would take 2 minutes off and do just that! Consider it a Christmas gift to yours truly who's set up the list, run it for over 3 years, written the FAQ etc. And... of course for yourself -most of you wouldn't mind having a dongle-free Notator I'm sure (to eliminate crashes because of bad contact, and the ability to run Notator on several computers). So, please, sign up -every single member of the list! (yes, even all of you lurkers who only read messages :-) As for getting hold of Notator -I've recently seen several ads at the SOS website. Both for complete systems with Notator SL (also including Unitor I believe) and only Atari ST computers. The computers shouldn't be hard to get real cheap these days -a good (and obvious) place is of course the "comp.sys.atari.st" newsgroup. Also try the many MIDI/synth/computer-music newsgroups, your local newspaper, music magazines etc. I'm sure there are lots of ex-Atari users who have turned over to PCs/Macs and forgotten they ever had a nice Atari MIDI system.
