Hi John,
good post. I'm intrigued by your technique to create new measures. 
Any time I want to do this, I use insert and move pattern, using the 
left and right locators to select which bars to move. Now obviously 
that will put in x number of blank bars into the score, so you don't 
need to go erasing lots of events.
