This is the age of G5's and such that require enormous amount of RAM just to load the OS. I don't know if you knew, but Gerhard Lengeling et al, authored Notator while partnered in Clab, stared Emagic after the split taking Notator with them...authored Logic (original included on the Atari platform as well). BTW others have pointed out that Notator currently has in it, program code for audio already written to some degree but never activated. I am among those who received an original Atari copy of Logic and followed the upgrades. For the past 2 years I do most of my work in Logic, presently in OSX. But what made the transition easy is how easy it is to see Logic as Notator's offspring. It's no longer advertised but even today I can import Notator's arrange files into Logic. Of course there are also dramatic changes and although the pseudo events are continued as meta events, I sorely miss autoload. Now when Apple bought Emagic from Lengeling and company a year and a half ago certainly many of the programmers went to Apple and Apple projects. So I don't think it's too far a stretch to say that Notator's genes will reside in some of Apple's midi products.....along with those from other companies that Apple has studiously acquired. One speculation is that Apple is planning to go head to head with Pro Tools!
