Hey Jamm!n, I don't know about foolish. Whatever turns out, I don't know if Apple can be accused of directly copying another product. It's an innovative company looking for market share. Pro Tools...great product, and a leader in it's field, because of that and lack of any real competition...so far! What I see is that, Apple has a bit more resources, in all areas, than Digidesign. What would be foolish, would be NOT to use those resources to try to open new markets and also take some existing market share for themselves. There is a large contingent of Pro toolers that also use Logic...or for whatever reasons wish there was something more capable than either. > Ardour is coming > up fast and it's free. Of course as a sequencer platform it still doesn't compete > with the ST :) I'm a HUGE fan of the ST. Made a reasonable good living over the past 10 years...still have 3 working ST's, hardware, software and a library of Start mags from the 80's. But when we say "doesn't compete with the ST", I hope you agree that we are being fondly nostalgic, 'cause as endearing as it is, the only real competition is with the encroaching sands of time :-) The technology that produced the ST and Notator has moved...not necessarily for the better, but nevertheless...on! Change is inevitable and anything that's not moving will eventually be buried in said sands. Blessings!
