(I sold some spare bits to Hallvard & Jammin I think!) I have recently setup them again just as a reminder of how things used to be. I have a Quicksilver Mac which was top whack 3 years ago. Today it is struggling to run the latest versions of Cubase & Logic under the new OS X operating system. I now find myself thinking do I upgrade the computer, or go back to the previous version of Cubase, and run it under the previous OS which was smooth, fast, and most of all familiar. It is very easy to assume you need the extra bells and whistles of the latest software, when actually 99% of the time I'm using 20% of the functions in Cubase, and being baffled by the rest. I went back to Notator and found it friendly, familiar and understandable, even after a three year separation. The MIDI editing in Cubase SX is not IMHO significantly "better" or more reliable than in Notator, and the rock solid timing of Notator is only now being equalled. If I didn't need the audio recording I would be setting up the Mega once again and revelling the familiarity of that little B&W screen again! Just a little maudlin ramble after a few beers, but if Notator is doing what you need it to do, be thankful you're not caught in the upgrade rush. -- Best Wishes Steve Coates Listen to One Drop at; http://www.onedrop.net _______________________________________________________ | Unsubscribe from the list? send the words: | | UNSUBSCRIBE NOTATOR to: @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ | -------------------------------------------------------
