I have been buried in a pile of work, here in Toronto. =20 =20 I don't know how many of us were bidding against each other 2 weeks ago, but I now have that Mega Ste with Notator dongle that was up on eBay. =20 =20 So, Hallvard and others, I'm trolling for tech advice. The Mega Ste has, what might well be a defunct internal hard drive. If I'm lucky it's just a disconnected wire, but if it's truly a crashed drive, I am wondering if I can plug some old Quantum 85meg SCSI in there, or if Atari used some other system. I remember there were very, very strange connections between the hard drive proper and the DMA plug, in the old Atari SLM-series drives. Did Atari get more "normal" by the time the Mega Ste was made? =20 =20 Also, on another note: I remember back in my Atari Users' Group newsletter days (who remembers the XEST fanzine these days?) there was an interesting article about fiddling with the trimmers inside the SM124 to expand the display. This, I understood, still only gives you 640 x 400, but expands the whole image to fill most of the black border in the stock display mode. I have lost that article. Did anyone save a copy? =20 =20 Best wishes from smoggy Toronto. =20 =20 John S.
