This is what I've found out: a) DO *NOT* terminate the hard drive!!! I know this is opposite of normal practise, where the last SCSI device in the chain should be terminated, but I've been told that if you indeed do terminate it you may very well fry the Mega STe host-adapter circuitry! And getting a replacement may prove to be near impossible. b) Set the drive to SCSI ID 0, termination OFF c) Only one drive can be connected (not that I really see any use for adding another drive, or CD-ROM etc. inside the Mega STe cabinet anyway). But if you do want/need to connect a second SCSI device you can do that with a few minor modifications. If you're interested, download the following file which gives you the necessary instructions: http://atari4ever.free.fr/hardware/zip/scsimste.zip The above settings work fine with my Mega STe. I've got a Quantum LPS-540s (540 Mbyte) drive. -- Hallvard Tangeraas Notator mailing list owner & maintainer http://www.notator.org ** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** ** Unsubscribe from the list?
