NSL is Notator SL - the SL standing for SoftLink - the software. The Log3 is the box which contains the copy protection dongle and gives you additional midi outputs - a chunk of hardware. The latest version of Notator SL is 3.21, which can be downloaded from Hallvard's website. This is, I believe, the only version you can use with the Log3, and will therefore no doubt be what Barrie has supplied you. If you reread the Notator.org FAQ reading 'NSL' wherever you see 'Notator' it should make sense!
